Flour Festival – Association Volontari Capitano Ultimo Onlus – 21.9.2014

Flour Festival – 21 September 2014 at the association Volontari Capitano Ultimo Onlus, Via Tenuta della Mistica SNC, 00165 Rome

Scienza per Amore, the association Volontari Capitano Ultimo Onlus (www.volontaricapitanoultimo.it) and BioHyst are organizing the first "Flour Festival" dedicated to Africa. The nutrient-rich flours, produced with the new Hyst technology from waste biomass and unused biomass resources, are the basis for the production of many food products, including bread, pasta, pizza and desserts which will be offered during the event.

The "Flour Festival" will be an occasion to inform people in Italy of the latest developments concerning the Bits of Future: Food for All project, as well as of the exciting acknowledgment received at the Commission for Rural Economy and Agriculture of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and at the Second Africa Dry Lands Week (25 to 29 August 2014, N’Djamena, Chad).

Scienza per Amore was invited by the African Union to present Hyst and Bits of Future at the Second Africa Dry Lands Week, organized by the African Union, FAO and CILSS (Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel), focused on the countries of the Sahel in search of new technological means for the revival of agriculture in their countries.

The flours derived from Hyst treatment have gained the interest of many African countries and the African Union inasmuch as suitable to address nutritional deficiencies, which lead to malnutrition and starvation.

The "Flour Festival" will be an occasion to meet and share our exceptional scientific achievements with representatives of Italian and foreign scientific and economic institutions, representatives of African governments, the national and international media, all of whom are familiar with Hyst and the international cooperation project Bits of Future: Food for All based on this technology. Bits of Future will continue with testing the biomass of interest to the various African countries.
